The basics of using AbSTopiq

1. Using AbSTopiq

AbSTopiq provides syllabus-grounded learning content, exam practice, and AI-assisted help (Sabi AI) for students, along with class-management tools for teachers and administrative tools for schools. You can use the free plan without payment; paid plans (Plus, the Exam-Ready Pass, Teacher plans, and School plans) unlock additional features described on our Pricing page.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Students under 18 should have a parent, guardian, or school aware of their use of the platform. School and district administrators are responsible for managing access for the teachers and students enrolled under their institutional plan.

3. Subscriptions & payment

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled, and are billed through our payment partners (Paystack, Flutterwave) for individual plans, or by per-term invoice for school and district plans. You can cancel a monthly plan at any time; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. The Exam-Ready Pass runs for its stated duration regardless of cancellation, since it's a fixed-term pass rather than a recurring subscription.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use AbSTopiq to cheat during an actual, invigilated examination, to share your account in a way that circumvents per-seat school billing, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or to upload content you don't have the right to share. Sabi AI is a study aid — it's meant to help you understand material, not to be used as an undisclosed aid during a supervised exam.

5. Intellectual property

AbSTopiq's lessons, practice content, software and branding belong to us or our licensors. Past-question content is used for educational practice purposes consistent with applicable law. You retain rights to anything original you submit (such as a Sabi AI question), but you grant us permission to process it in order to provide the service and improve grounding accuracy.

6. School & district agreements

Where a school or district (such as our partnership with Lagos State's Education District IV) enters into an institutional plan, the specific terms of that agreement — including data handling, billing, and support commitments — take precedence over these general terms for students and teachers covered under that plan.

7. Disclaimers

AbSTopiq is a study aid. While we ground lessons and Sabi AI answers in the relevant syllabus and check them against it, we can't guarantee a specific exam outcome, and past-question practice is not a guarantee of what will appear in any future examination.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, AbSTopiq is provided "as is," and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. This doesn't limit any liability that can't be limited under applicable Nigerian law.

9. Termination

You can stop using AbSTopiq and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including misuse of shared school seats or attempts to circumvent billing.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

11. Changes

We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and will flag material changes to registered users where required.
